economical laptop

Hey.  I've been eyeballing one of these for myself.  The prices are
pretty good.

These seem to be in the spec range you're talking about.  The articles
on installing Linux trouble me.  Maybe that's laptops in general.  I'd
like to go in compusa or bestbuy after hours and try a bootable cd in
all the laptops and buy the one with the fewest bugs...
