unable to locate gpg executable path

WARNING:  STUPID WINDOWS QUESTION BELOW.

hi, on my win xp box i have GnuPG, WinPT, and Enigmail.  i'm getting the 
following error from enigmail, "unable to locate gpg executable path". i 
think that my path environment variable is not set right.  how do i fix 
this?
i am also unable to sign keys.  for the same reason you think?
thanks for putting up with my windows crap.  linux, of course, rules.  eric.
