Wubi

I got and IBM X31on Ebay for $340.  It is the most sexiest computer
that I have owned.  It does not have a CD so you need to be creative
to load Linux.  I tried a bootable flash drive but it didn't work the
first time I tried to boot so I went to a USB hard drive.  It did not
boot either.  This evening. I bit the bullet and went with Wubi
http://wubi-installer.org/
It works like a dream.  It installs as an exe in windows.  I choose
XUbuntu as my system.
It could not have been easier
