Was it really "down"?  I noticed something similar in 2004 when they
were having major DNS issues for about two weeks.  Many people I knew
were complaining.  I even did Comcast a favor and called them up to
tell them, but I don't think the customer support person understood
what DNS was :-)  That's when 4.2.2.2 became famous...
