Well, that or they stick to a stable mythtv release and a known-good  
kernel. I'm sorta on the bleeding edge of the bleeding edge. :)

(heh, and no, it was not a reiser filesystem I was recording to, I  
haven't had the urge to run anything on reiserfs, well, ever)
