I certainty hope no one feels like anything I've said is intended to be
hostile. My only gripe has been that people who's profession it is to
understand and use something should be required, professionally, do do so,
and if they don't, come up to speed as fast as possible.

I think it was my comment in which I said that I'd fire someone who
spec'ed MySQL without a very specific reason. I'm sorry if anyone thinks
that was hostile, it wasn't.

And yes, as a previous poster asked, have I fired someone for *NOT*
knowing their job? Hell yes, and I think, rightfully so. To do less
wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team or the company paying the bills.
I stand by that opinion.

Anyway, I hope having "strong" opinions, perhaps peppered with a dose of
sarcasm and/or irony is OK.
