I'm running Firefox
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv: Gecko/20060527
SUSE/ Firefox/
A file on firefox-bin shows it is actually a 32-bit executable:
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, dynamically linked (uses shared
libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, stripped

And it includes Flash 7.0 r63.

of course, Adobe Flash is now up to 9.0 and many web sites now require flash

The bottom line here is that Linux x86_64 can run 32-bit executables.
