Your CD drive should be bootable.  Most likely, there is a "boot order"
set in your computer's BIOS that tells it to try booting from the hard 
disk before trying to boot from the CD drive.  It should be easy to go
into the BIOS and change the boot order such that the CD drive is tried
before the hard disk is.

.. but they seem to assume you have access to a working installation
with which to create the floppies from.
