[Discuss] Mastodon MIT Instance

i'd agree that fediverse is quite nice now, if you like hanging out with "political outsiders and geeks." (pretty apt description)

and there are many other options besides MIT (not that there's anything wrong with MIT's instance). one nice thing about the federated model is that you can stay local or go global. i think it's a great design for our commerical and militarized networked world.

i really hope it doesn't turn into the twitter sewer, but humans don't have a good track record with nice things on the network ...
