I've bought many used laptops before. One time it was in rough shape, and I had no difficulty returning it to Overstock.com. Another time, the seller sold me a macbook pro in "good" condition, that was warped and spraypainted. I returned it, and he claimed he never received it. (USPS tracking said it was delivered, but with or without a signature, it still doesn't count as "proof" that it was delivered to the right person.) I called the San Jose police, who laughed me off the phone. I tried to claim the USPS insurance, but as I said - their response was, despite the tracking saying it was delivered, there was no proof it was delivered to the right person (which would be their own damn fault anyway), so they denied the insurance claim. I complained to Amazon, they told me to do all those other things, and told me I'm out of luck. I thought about suing, but it would have cost me more than the $999 laptop was worth. So then I used a lot of profanity on Amazon's social media, and they issued me a refund.
