Never used.   If all you want to do is share IO hardware, why not just
get a KVM switch?   Cheapest units are <$25 and
I would have fewer concerns about software compatibility.   Oh, from
what I can tell Syngergy doesn't actually share display hardware; it
only shares keyboard/mouse (as well as providing file transfer, cut &
paste support, etc.).    It's an interesting idea (and probably a lot
easier to do then including video), but it doesn't seem to met your
requirements.
