[Discuss] Please help with RAID1 on Ubuntu

 -s, --scan
              Scan  config  file  or /proc/mdstat for missing
information.

That info is coming from your out-of-date mdadm.conf.

1 mdadm --stop /dev/md127
2 mdadm --remove /dev/md127
3 mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdb (or whatever)
