[Discuss] Fios direct connect to router?

I don't want to use the Verizon/Actiontec router. Instead, I want to use a Zyxel USG 50.

1. Straight or crossover cable?

2. Do I need to wait after disconnecting Verizon's router? Do I need to call Verizon to change anything or register?

3. What should I select for WAN? Ethernet, PPPoE or PPTP? If PPPoE, how do I get username/pw?
