[Discuss] [Position-available] wanted immediate DevOps / Sr. System Administrator

I have an immediate need for a Sr. Level (lead) System Administrator
experienced with *RHEL6* *Linux*. I need someone, preferably with
consulting experience, to lead the hardware side of a *Development
Operations* engagement. eQuality Technology is refactoring, upgrading and
re-deploying the client's development environment and software development
operations (especially best practices such as build, build automation, and
test automation) onto new Dell and EMC hardware in a self-hosted
environment.

I am leading the client engagement and have substantially completed the
project in a test VM environment. This engagement is nearing completion,
so if someone can assist immediately they may be in a position to lead the
deployment to production. Otherwise, they would be needed to confirm /
certify that the deployment is complete and correct according to goals and
requirements.

Location: Billerica, MA + remote + Salisbury, MA

Depending on the success of the project, there will likely be more
opportunity for engagement with this and future clients.

Responsibilities include

   1. create Virtual Machines (using *VMWare* and possibly other
environments with ability to defend selection of VM environment)
   2. specify and create VM Hosts and VM Guests plus partitioning
   3. clone existing setups
   4. networking of VMs within the LAN
   5. storage (attach to and partition *EMC* *SAN* which will likely be
   accomplished)
   6. migrate 4TB of data (must be adept at *rsync* and bonus for
   de-duplication on *Linux*)
   7. lead and implement *backup* and *disaster recovery* according to
   available Rentsys <http://rentsys.com/solutions.asp> environment
   8. performance *measurement* and monitoring to re-allocate and resize or
scale according to demand for resources

Critical to success:

   1. System Administration and Best Practices in Development Operations
   2. administration of *Subversion*
   3. administration of *Jira* for issue tracking
   4. software engineering best practices in a C environment and especially
system administration support of the same.
   5. *software build* *automation*
   6. *software testing *and automation
   7. deployment
   8. C code with "make" in multiple repositories
   9. bash or other scripting

Nice to have:

   1. Familiarity with *OpenGrok* code cross-reference
   2. Familiarity with *Juju* deployments
   3. Familiar with *Jenkins* (and other build systems usable with C code)
   4. familiarity with *Rietveld* (and other Code review systems usable
   with Subversion)
