Job Description
Develops and applies state-of-the-art methods, theories and research 
techniques to the validation and verification of complex systems hardware 
and software. This is a high individual contributor level in the 
organization and serves as a technical resource for complex system 
analysis, testing and planning. Expert level knowledge/application of 
Operating systems, networking, scripting languages, test methodologies and 
integrated automation systems.
 An individual who has hands-on technical expertise in these subject 
areas:
 Linux shell scripting - bash, sh, perl etc.
 Fault-tolerant networking
 High availability for apps and databases.
 VM configuration and management
 Disaster recovery methodologies
 Proficient with RDBMS or NO SQL databases
 Worked extensively using open source LAMP based technologies, 
Multi-server linux and windows deployments.
 Proficient in Virtualization technology using VMWare or similar 
hypervisor platforms. Be able to extract the most efficient use and 
benefits from virtualization techniques.
 Has the organizational ability to work through issues and define (and 
enforce) standards across multiple teams. 
 Is capable of creating and running test plans, and test execution across 
multiple components in a complex system.
 This person also needs to be able to define, justify and communicate the 
specific requirements (e.g., for network infrastructure) that our 
customers will need to satisfy, in order for us to achieve a successful 
deployment.
 Ability to guide or mentor other test engineers in defined testing 
techniques for complex integrated systems.
 Consults with hardware, software, and system engineering staff to 
identify test equipment and lab interoperability equipment that simulates 
a customer environment
Support diagnostic and test activities to determine performance, 
validation, and solutions to complex or unusual software problems
 Ability to resolve complex issues and adequately document test progress 
and results
 Works with management to develop effective new ways to increase system 
reliability, e.g. improve engineering processes that increase overall 
system reliability or increasingly effective deployment and testing 
processes, tools and techniques
 Increases the automated deployment and testing frameworks
 Defines metrics programs (identifies appropriate measures, collection 
methods and interpretation of results).
Education: BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Experience: 5 - 8 years of related experience
