To clarify, having a PTR record for your mail server's IP is generally
required, but having the PTR record match the HELO (EHLO) domain should
not be required, and rejecting messages that violate this is considered
bad practice. Though that doesn't stop a few well known sites from doing
so (craigslist.org, for example).
