[OT] home routers

Before tossing the router, you might try switching to another wireless
channel. I've seen that make a difference in more than one home installation
with flaky reception. If you have an Android phone, there's a nifty little
free app called Wifi Analyzer that shows you a graphical view of channel
(over)utilizaton in your area and also tests signal strength, but of course
you could figure this out by trial and error, too.

I have had nothing but problems with Linksys products. Usually I find that
the product works for about a year before requiring a replacement. I
consider this to be by design. When Linksys products are working I find
that they need semi-frequent reboots.

I tend to recommend D-link or Netgear products. I've had excellent results
with Netgear.
