Outlook sync with Google Calendar

Are we talking about the same thing?  Maybe you're talking about windows
mobile on the phone?

Outlook 2007, on your laptop, using Google Apps Sync for Outlook

Runs over https.  Traverses a proxy without trouble, if you happen to be
behind one.
