Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

Linus at Fermi National Laboratory



Back in the spring of 1999, Linus gave a talk at Fermi National 
Laboratory. This is the premier high energy physics laboratory in the 
world, back in 1999. Today, that baton has been handed over to the 
Europeans when they turned on the Large Hadron Collider.

Be that as it may, I flew up to Chicago to attend Linus talk and, of 
course, wrote it up. That article generated a huge amount of traffic on 
my web server when slashot posted it on its web site. I've resurected 
that article on my new web site. For those of you interested in a bit of
