RE: Linux on the desktop - it's come a long way, but is it there yet?



 On your point of having to spend the first two weeks wrestling with your 
system to work after a major upgrade, I hear your pain.  After Fedora 9, 
which has plenty of bells and whistles, I just got sick of the never 
ending problems.  I switched to CentOS.  The install was way smoother, 
everything just worked.  Other than a problem playing back DVD's, which 
I'll fix tonight, it's great.  Oh and the best part is I won't have to 
upgrade for years.
