I beg to differ. At least with the "kvm external to normal testing 
environments" part. :) 

Within the Fedora world, testing daily installation trees and/or live 
isos is quite often done within kvm guests. Much quicker to spin an iso 
and point kvm at it, rather than burning to CD or booting a whole 
'nother machine to see if the installer is happy and sane.
