You get a DV stream from the firewire port of a MiniDV camcorder. 
That's uncompressed video, and for standard definition NTSC, it 
works out to about 12 GB per hour of video. 

The pvrusb2 provides an MPEG2 stream, which I believe is somewhere 
around 1 GB per hour. 

I would be really surprised if you could pull a clean DV stream across 
a usb connection.
