5.0.51 is the latest "General Release" version of MySQL. 5.1.22 is still 
in the "Release Candidate" stage, but is very stable and I would 
personally recommend using it for new projects. It's due to go GR soon. 
6.0 is sill in alpha, and I would say don't do anything serious with it.
