I'll second that. I've replaced fans a few times, though usually for the 
purpose of replacing a stock fixed-speed fan with a temperature 
controlled one. 

If the supply was 3+ years old, and it was a machine where you need high 
reliability, replacing the entire supply is the smart thing to do.
