So far as I can tell, google is the only website affected 
and only on dialup 
(with the possible exception that I also get stuck on 
the google-analytics, though the adblock extension to firefox 
seems to be taking care of that problem). 

Every other website that I have tried seems to work just fine (though 
slowly since I am on a dialup line).
