   The bios can affect the largest file you can store indirectly. 
   Think about if you have a raid array over 2TB. Can a standard bios 
   handle this "drive"?  I ran into such a scenario recently... 

If you use a logical volume manager, it can aggregate multiple 
disks/arrays, which would allow you to exceed any BIOS limit. 
Furthermore, the BIOS will have no effect on the maximum file offset.
