RE: mythtv and vlc



 i've already copied the dvds... 

short of converting them into .avi files (or another format), is there 
another way to view the directory contents and play them through Myth? 

the structure looks like this (just an example): 
/dvd 
    /2001ASpaceOdyssey 
    /TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly 
    /Waterworld 

and under each directory entry there are .vob and .ifo files.

I think what you want is MythDVD, which imports DVDs into MythTV.
