Wine question

 I installed Wine on Ubuntu Fiesty. I am trying to run a DOS program named
FLAC. When I issue the command
$  wine FLAC
I receive this message and the program hangs (It does not open a new window)

Warning: unprotecting memory to allow real-mode calls.
         NULL pointer accesses will no longer be caught.

I tried another dos based program with the same message. I did not install
these programs. I loaded the .exe from the CD to a linux ext3 folder. I
have googled and went to the wine web site with not answers. I tried using
Wine File and nothing happens when I click on the file. I would appreciate
any suggestions.
