Amanda vs legato?

I'm pricing some lto autoloaders for a RH5 server and am looking for
ultra-reliable backup software for it. I'm currently looking at the Sun
C2 Autoloader with LTO3 magazines.

Amanda is a free option, but I also know many people highly recommend
legato. What are insights from this list? Obviously, amanda is free
(wrt redhat support), and legato costs a lot more, but it would be
paid-for support from EMC.

>From the operational and support perspectives, what are the list's
recommendations?

Thanks.
