Senior Network Administrator

Our client is a not for profit organization established in 1972 to
jointly provide services to its member institutions. They are
currently looking for an Information Technology Manager to manage
maximum optimization of technology, systems and resources and maintain
reliable and secure network, phone and internet systems for smooth and
effective communication and information flow (24 hours per day, 7 days
per week). The position requires a high level of autonomy and
flexibility, including on call responsibilities, and availability to
oversee and execute 1 to 2 overnight projects per month.


This person is responsible for the Information Technology and
Telecommunications operations of the client's Services Call Center as
well support of the Corporate Office and affiliated companies. The
Call Center offers a variety of business solutions that include:
inbound calling programs for customer service, receptionist and
answering services as well as paging and centralized attendant
services for all size businesses and strategic architecture for LAN,
Voice and Network Security. This person will serve as an internal
information security consultant to the organization, and will document
IT and security policies and procedures.


Management responsibilities include direct training and oversight to
two network administrators including review of projects, timelines and
recommendations of capital expenditures. Must have proven ability to
coach, mentor, lead and develop staff, evaluate performance, hire new
staff and take disciplinary action as required.


Must be able to communicate business needs to technical people and to
communicate and simplify complex technical information for
non-technical people. Equally important is proficiency in project
management principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective
management of projects from initiation through implementation. Must be
hands-on, when necessary, and exhibit excellent customer service and
interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of organizations
including hourly staff and a diverse client base.

DUTIES:

    *

      Manage the procurement, installation, configuration and
maintenance of Corporate Information Technology including personal
computers, email, local and wide area networks, telecommunications
systems, UNIX/Avaya/SQL servers, file servers, network switches
(Cisco), network cabling and other related equipment devices, systems,
wireless networks, customer programmed proxies, Active Directory, DHCP
servers, LAN/WAN and firewalls.
    *

      Manage network security procedures and systems to ensure optimal
effectiveness, compliancy and confidentiality is maintained.
    *

      Assign, schedule, supervise and review the work of consultants,
analysts, vendors and other support staff.
    *

      Lead project team in determining customer requirements and
translating requirements into operational plans.

    *

      Other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE:


    *
      Five plus years experience in Information Technology/Network
Administration required.
    *
      Four-year degree in computer science or management information
systems preferred.
    *
      Telecommunications/Call Center Background desired, including
experience with Avaya Suite of Products and radio paging topologies.
    *
      Advanced experience in the following areas: Active Directory
(domains, group policy, etc.), TCP/IP, WINS/DHCP, Cisco network
products (2600 and 2800 routers, 3750 switches, CISCO ASA firewall),
Windows 2000/2003/SQL servers, Windows XP, Exchange Server.
    *
      CISSP and/or CISM / MCSE professional designations preferred.
    *
      Two plus year's management/supervisory experience.
    *
      Thorough understanding of security management practices for
network and computers. Experience with security scanning and
monitoring tools for purposes of network mapping and vulnerability
identification.
    *
      Experience with IT management in Small - Mid Size enterprises preferred.
