You didn't say what "high price" is, but you can regularly find a  
good deal on Cyclades ACS console servers on eBay.   Sometimes a 4 or  
8 port box will come along for a few hundred dollars; otherwise look  
for a 16 or 32 port version for less than $1000.   They work Really  
Well.
