NIS issue

I just set up a new server, and I am having some problems with NIS.
First, NIS is properly binding to the correct server.=20

Then when I try to check passwd or group I get someting like:

[root at boslc05 ~]# ypcat passwd
No such map passwd.byname. Reason: Internal NIS error

The server is an HP Integrity (eg. IA64) running RHEL 4 U2, and the
affected system is an Intel whitebox x86-64 system running RHEL 4 U3.
The other 2 x86-64 systems in the office are also running RHEL 4 U3,
and NIS works fine.=20
