New Computer, what should I install?

When I was a wee wee lad, I once visited the house of relatives who had
a Teletype machine in their kitchen--the kind with the big scroll of
paper and the round grey keys.  I was just tall enough to see the
keyboard, and noticed that one of the buttons on the keyboard was
labelled "BREAK".  I resisted the temptation to push that button and
make the whole machine fall apart.

A few weeks ago, we had a lunch guest who started reminiscing about the
IM icon that a friend of hers had been using since she was ten years old.

Kids today....
