ARTICLE: Linux Video Processing

This is a nice little article on how a company is pioneering Video
Processing using Linux. What's even more interesting is the mention
of Dreamworks towards the end of the article.

"Only one major movie studio, Dreamworks, is rumored to run Linux
throughout its entire operation, right down to the receptionists'
desktop terminals. Most studios run a mix of operating systems. While
Linux dominates render farm applications (often running proprietary
software written in-house by the various studios), most studios use
either Avid or Final Cut Pro as their primary video editing suite."

Dreamworks is obviously one of the pioneers of cutting-edge Hollywood
animation, but it was interesting to hear that they don't run any
proprietary OS's in the company.
