Source for refurbished Tape Drives or Drive Repair

I still use Travan drives.  DLT and LTO I recommend to customers.  I was long ago burned by DAT and refuse to touch them now.

I would not buy a used travan drive because you don't know how much wear is on the head.   And, TR5 drives are cheap (in comparison to other tape technologies), $300 at NewEgg.  That being said, I have seen refurbished TR5 drives pop-up on Tiger Direct.
