What happens at 6:30 am (besides that fetchmail seems to crash)?

I was going to do some more checking into this, using some of the
advice I received here, but didn't have time one day, and the next day
the problem had stopped happening.  I don't know whether it was the
poking I did, or the "apt-get update;apt-get upgrade" that I run most
days, but I'm considering the problem solved.
