Raid 5 versus 3 computer backup

A third alternative is to use offsite backup.

For one of my computers, I arranged with a friend to share disk space,
so every night I do an incremental dump and back up to his machine, and
he does the same and backs up to mine.

My wife uses unison to back up her laptop to our OpenHosting server. At
some point, given OpenHosting's incremental per-megabyte charge, we will
probably set up an Amazon S3 account and use JungleDisk for backups instead.
