There was also some litigation around the Canopy group and some of its
executives. At the time, Ray Noorda himself was incapacitated, and
later passed away. 

The whole thing is a messy situation. Ransom Love, who was CEO of
Caldera at the time of the purchase, has criticized the litigation.
