Linux-based appliance to play DVD VOBs

While looking over some old BLU messages on RAID, I ran across...

FYI, the Hauppauge MediaMVP[1] set-top-box that I'm using as a front-end
for MythTV can supposedly do this, though I haven't tried yet. It's
mentioned in the documentation for the third party firmware I'm using,
mvpmc[2]. To play back VOBs may or may not also require a MythTV
back-end. The mvpmc software can operate with various back-end servers,
including simple NFS exports.
