speeding up OpenOffice?

   According to
   http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Inspiron+1100+Series
   the maximum memory is 1GB, 2 slots of 512MB, and you can get those
   chips for $57.59 each.  So my $200 estimate was way way over the cost.
   (the Dell Inspiron 1100 series takes DDR PC2700).

It's *well* worth it -- go all the way to 1 GB.  The laptop will
probably be much more responsive overall.
