A USB printer to a networked printer

Hello:

Is there an electronic widget to turn a printer with a USB port into a
network printer.  Right now the USB printer goes into a computer that
when turned off means the printer is not available.  I would prefer to
sometimes use the printer without turning on that computer.

...a little work with Google turned up a few answers in the $100
range.  Anyone use one of these devices?
