could I get help with an install ?

I had asked about linux distros on newsgroups, as well as if I should seek assistance with an install once I determine which distro to go with which in fact someone did recommend I look for help. I probable would prefer a free distro, but maybe something inexpensive if it seems like the way to go. I see there is no install fest scheduled. If I needed help, could I find someone to help me out ? I recall the install fest recommends something like a $25 donation.
