Interface Errors

Both sides are set to auto/auto. I know in the past I've seen more
problems when dealing with auto/auto (on Cisco) where both sides can't
agree on a negotiation. But in that case, I've seen the errors on the
switch interface.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but verify that neither
interface is forced to a connection speed or duplex. We have often seen
problems where the router or server is forced to full/half/gig and the
other is set to auto - for some reason it often gets it wrong.
