gnu/linux on AMD: 64-bit or 32-bit?

That's pretty much the same situation as in Fedora. When I played with the 64
bit version of FC (FC3 at the time) it seemed to work fine, but there were a lot
of nice packages, like up-to-date ATI drivers, that simply weren't available.
