Problems syncing my Palm with Linux

Anyone know of any good mailing lists/websites/IRC channels
for the Palm and Linux? The pilot-link website has almost no
documentation, and the mailing list is completely dead. I even tried
the IRC channel a few times and got no answers.

My current problem:. I'm trying to sync my brand spankin new Palm TX
under SuSE
10.0 and pilot-link-0.11.8-129. I've tried several programs, and I get
variants on the same error.

deepthink:~ # jpilot
PC ID is 0.
I generated a new PC ID. It is 1424254858
dlp_ReadSysInfo error
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_READSYSINFO
Finished

deepthink:~ # pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -L
   Listening to port: /dev/ttyUSB0
Please press the HotSync button now... Connected
Error read system info on /dev/ttyUSB0

Note: When I connect my sync cable, /var/log/messages gets:
May 10 19:54:06 deepthink kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device
using uhci_hcd and address 23
May 10 19:54:06 deepthink kernel: visor 3-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm
OS converter detected
May 10 19:54:06 deepthink kernel: usb 3-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS
converter now attached to ttyUSB0
May 10 19:54:06 deepthink kernel: usb 3-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS
converter now attached to ttyUSB1

Am I to specify /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1 to connect?

Oh, and this laptop is dual-boot, and syncing works fine under Windows XP.

Thanks in advance.
