Are there *any* good high-end Linux-friendly PDAs out there?

David,

As pointed out, the Nokia 770 seems to be your dream PDA. I've had one
for six months or so as part of Nokia's developer program: the software
is getting better all the time, and the high-resolution screen is a joy
to use; you can't get a better screen without going all the way to a
decent-sized laptop.

The storage is a little less than "plentiful and expandable" -- there's
a single RS-MMC slot, and I think the upper limit for RS-MMC is only
just starting to push from 512M to 1G. I'm not aware of any upcoming
cards with greater than 1G in RS-MMC.

You (and the rest of the list) may also be interested in the port of
Linux to the Treo 650, which is going at a decent pace but isn't all
there yet:
