I would suggest, first test your bandwidth with one of the free bandwidth
measurement sites.
http://www.dslreports.com/stest?loc=3
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

You should show a reasonably good bandwidth nearing 6Mbps (down).

You might also want to change your name servers around.
Here is my current setup.

nameserver 24.34.240.9
nameserver 24.34.241.9
nameserver 68.87.64.196

gaf at gaf:~> traceroute 24.34.240.9
traceroute to 24.34.240.9 (24.34.240.9), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1 10.217.230.1 11.944 ms 14.136 ms 13.089 ms
 2 68.87.157.193 14.814 ms 13.718 ms 15.298 ms
 3 10g-9-3-ar02.needham.ma.boston.comcast.net (68.87.145.161) 17.541 ms
7.769 ms 9.644 ms

 5 24.34.240.241 20.912 ms 20.003 ms 19.201 ms
 6 * 24.34.240.241(N!) 18.487 ms *
