Gentoo boot issue, possibly framebuffer?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I was using genkernel. I recompiled manually without an initrd,
turned off framebuffer support, and now everything seems ok. The last
few times I ran genkernel, it couldn't generate the initrd correctly.
