never ending process

I just installed Windows 2000 AS because I am unable to get a remote access
through a Ctrix gateway running on Linux in the office. (Although I can at
home).
After the install there were 43 critical updates + abunch of Windows 2000
updates and 1 driver update. After installing all of these (and the
apropriate reboots), 1 new critical update appeared, so I installed that. I
should have had zero updates waiting. I checked the update screen again,
and there were an additional 3.
