Problem uploading video

Hello:

I have a little script that creates /dev/raw1394 and /dev/video1394.
Are there others I need, such as /dev/ohci1394 and/or /dev/ieee1394?
The modules are loaded as far as lsmod is claiming, but kino has the
same complaint, the IEEE1394 subsystem is not responding.

The firewire port is provided by a pci card. Perhaps I am just
clueless about how to get such a card to work.
